Nomura snaps up Goldman Sachs’ Hartropp

Goldman Sachs’ Jon Hartropp has joined Nomura as vice president to focus on hedge fund client relationships, Global Investor/ISF can exclusively confirm.

Hartropp joined Nomura in November and reports to Phil Morgan, head of prime sales from the bank’s London office.

He had worked at Goldman Sachs for ten years, most recently in its hedge fund financing team.

The hire is in response to Nomura’s growing prime financing business, according to Ben Challice, head of global equity finance.

He said another reason is a “need to continue providing clients with first class service as we navigate the changing regulatory environment”.
