StoneX, which has been a constant in the tournament since its foundation in 2017, beat Intercontinental Exchange in a fiercely contested final, holding their nerve to lift the trophy
StoneX has won the Dave Setters Trophy for the first time, helping raise a record £33,000 for Motor Neurone Disease research in the latest instalment of the industry’s charity cricket tournament.
StoneX, which has been a constant in the tournament since its foundation in 2017, beat Intercontinental Exchange in a fiercely contested final, holding their nerve to lift the trophy.
The eventual winners beat former champions London Metal Exchange in their semi-final while ICE finally overcame Trading Technologies in a game that was decided in a bowl-off after the teams tied on runs scored.
Honourable mentions are due to KRM22 and ABN Amro Clearing which contested the plate final where ABN prevailed.
The Dave Setters Trophy this year generated over £33,000, which is a record for an individual year, taking the total raised by the tournament for the Motor Neurone Disease Association to £162,000.
The trophy is named after David Setters, the popular derivatives expert who has in recent years dedicated himself to raising money to fund research into MND after discovering he has the disease.
Dave has been tireless in raising awareness about MND and in supporting efforts that lead to a cure and better care for people living with MND. He established City Against MND and works closely with the MND Association. Dave is also a Founding Trustee of Futures for Kids, the industry's charity.
Dave’s entire career has been spent in the City where he has been a long time champion of the futures and options markets.
